Introduction to 3D Image Visualisation,
Analysis and Model Generation with Simpleware

Monday, September 4, 2017 / 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
UK InterPore Conference on Porous Media - Coventry, UK

Who should attend

This workshop will discuss the key capabilities of Simpleware, and its applications for materials and porous media research. There will be a hands-on session and chances to ask questions about the software. It is aimed at both porous media and materials researchers, as well as anyone wanting to extend their use of 3D image data to new areas such as simulation.

Simpleware for Porous Media Analysis

Simpleware enables analysis of 3D image data (such as from CT, Ultrasound, micro-CT, FIB-SEM...) for porous media, oil and gas, and material applications. The software links 3D image data to FE simulation through robust image processing, analysis, and mesh generation tools. Users can generate FE and CFD models to simulate physical phenomena such as fluid flow and/or mechanical deformation of porous media. In addition, Simplewre offers homogenisation tools for calculating effective material properties, including characterisation of absolute permeability.
